Business + Art + Rugby = Garw Valley
On Saturday 14th October 2017 four organisations came together in an old Welsh mining Valley in a show of community spirit which they hope can be the start of something within the valley.
Oxford House Menswear had the idea to promote designer rugby brand Eden Park Paris using local art gallery Studio 18 as their backdrop, local photographer Tim Dobbs and the models supplied by Pontycymer Rugby of Division 3 West Central A.

Oxford House Menswear in Pontycymer is celebrating its 45th Year of business this year, located in the heart of a former mining village in South Wales. It has been 12 months since we became South Wales’ only independent supplier of French designer rugby brand Eden Park and we are extremely proud of its initial success with people in the locality and further afield. We look forward to new ventures with this brand and involving the community more in future.

Pontycymer RFC was established in October 1887 and since its inception has been supported by a huge pot of players wanting to get their first step on the rugby ladder. Pontycymer supplied the models for the photo shoot to which we are thankful for and provide a special mention to Thomas Davies, Scott Forester, Nathan Silverthorne and Kyle Galtry (You never know this could be the start of a new career for the boys!!).
As most clubs do, Pontycymer rely on the continued support of the community to keep rugby alive in the valley. They welcome players of all standards to come along to training at their base at Lawrence Park, Pontycymer on Tuesday & Thursday evenings.
